Jaws Authorization problem

Hi everyone,
I recently reformatted Windows XP using the new CD's that were sent by Dell. However, it was the XP pro instead of home. I tried authorizing Jaws, but it says it wasn't authorized for XP pro. Will I have to get a whole other jaws key, and how much does that cost?
Thanks.

Your Jaws was authorised for XP home, so it won't authorise unless you have your XP home CD and change the computers opperating system back to XP home.

You would have to pay for a legal authorisation for XP Pro but this wouldn't mean paying for a new copy of Jaws.

Oh good. I thought I had to purtchase a whole new copy of Jaws for that $1095 price. Actually, it's the state, but still. Is the Serial number printed on the CD case? I can't seem to find it in Braille. Only the auth code.

Sorry to bring this back up, but i'm still looking for the serial number.

Your serial should be on your jaws box. Not the CD case, but the actual box that the case was in.

Oh darn. I don't have the box anymore, and I should've written it down.

hit insert j
go up to "about jaws"
hit enter
use jaws cursor to read the serial number

It's a demo version. I'm trying to locate the serial number for the upgrade. Is it possible to look it up with the the authorization code?

Hm, the folder the disks came in should be braille with it on it if I'm not mistaken. However, if jaws tells you it is not able to run in pro, then I'd say it is not xp, but rather jaws that needs to be purchased. Jaws professional. I'd also recommend a dongle, as it is a lot easier to authorize it, however, if anyone has any way of using a dongle within vpc or vmware, please let me know, because I hate vmware and when I tried using it, it just wouldn't work. I need the serial number to upgrade to Jaws Pro, so if it's actually on a Jaws CD itself, or the the folder thing it comes in, that would be good. I'll have someone look at it. The only way I can think of getting it, if it's not on the CD is to install jaws on another computer, authorize it, write down the number, check the number of acctivations, and reset if needed. I know what numbers were in it, but not the order. I'm probably going to use jaws 10 for the next two years even if it gets upgraded. :) By then they will be on jaws 40.

I don't doubt that.
